Overview

Petto has short words for the subcommands of the commands people type most, so !is does what !image sepia does and !tko does what !ticket open does. They are for the message prefix only: there are no new slash commands. A short alias is not a new command. It is the usual command and subcommand with a shorter name, so it is checked exactly like the long form:
  • It needs the same permissions as the command it stands for.
  • !disablecommand and !restrictcommand rules on the real command apply to its short aliases: if image is turned off in a channel, !is is off there too.
  • The words you type after it go where they would go after the long form: !is @Ana is !image sepia @Ana.
!help and the Commands page of the website show the short aliases next to each subcommand.

How the words are made

The words come from the initials of the command and of the subcommand, and they are fixed: a word never changes what it does when a command is added later.
  • The first try is the initial of the command and the initial of the subcommand: is is image sepia. A few commands use the short name they already had (gw for giveaway, xp for level, tk for ticket).
  • If that word is already a command, an alias or a shortcut, more letters of the subcommand are used: ir is !inrole, so image rotate is !iro.
  • A word is never taken from something that already has it. If nothing short and free exists, the subcommand has no short alias and you type it in full.

Words that are also common words

Some of the words are also everyday words in English, Spanish or Portuguese (is, if, si, um…). With a symbol prefix they work as usual: !is, ,is or your personal prefix. After a word prefix such as petto they never start a command, so a sentence like petto is the best is chat and not !image sepia. The long names still work after a word prefix: petto sepia, petto image sepia.

Your own words win

If your server already has an alias or a custom command with the same word, yours wins and the short alias does not run there. New aliases and custom commands can use these words too.

The list

The list is written from the same data the bot uses, so it always matches the bot. A command with subcommands is shown with what each short alias runs.
