# Join Roles

> Give roles automatically to every new member.

## Overview

Join roles are given to members the moment they join the server. Use them for a base "Member" role, or a separate role for bots.

It needs **Manage Roles**. Petto's own role must be above the role it gives, and managed roles (from an integration) and `@everyone` cannot be used.

## Commands

`target` says who gets the role: `all` (the default), `humans` or `bots`.

* `add` adds a role (or changes its target).
* `remove` stops giving one role.
* `list` shows every join role with its target.
* `clear` removes all of them.

`!joinrole` also works as `!jr`.
