# Reputation

> A simple thank-you point members give each other.

## Overview

Reputation is a small point that members give to each other to say thanks. It is a different thing from leveling: nobody earns it by chatting, someone has to choose to give it.

## Commands

<CodeGroup>
  ```javascript Syntax theme={null}
  !rep give <user>
  !rep view [user]
  !rep leaderboard
  !rep reset <user>
  ```

  ```javascript Example theme={null}
  !rep give @Someone
  !rep view
  !rep leaderboard
  ```

  ```text Result theme={null}
  ✅ Gave a reputation point to @Someone. They now have 7.
  ```
</CodeGroup>

* `give` gives one point. You cannot give points to yourself or to a bot, and there is a **cooldown of 24 hours** between the points you give.
* `view` shows your points, or someone else's.
* `leaderboard` shows the members with the most points in the server.
* `reset` sets a member's points back to 0. It is for staff.

`!rep` also works as `!reputation`.

Reputation is on by default. It can be turned off, and the cooldown changed, in the **Community** section of the [dashboard](https://petto.sbs/dash).
